Not bad for a low-priced heater. This is a budget firearm with the “budget” in all the right places. I was hard pressed to find any machine marks, mismatched castings, or any other signs of poor assembly. Yes, it has some budget minded parts, but it’s a very functional, solid firearm with a well-designed polymer frame
The front sights are similar, but the SD9 has a front night sight, versus just a white dot on the SD9VE. The SD9VE also has a different, and better, trigger than the SD9. The weight is about the same but the length of pull on the VE is shorter and slightly smoother

As I stated at the start of this review, the Smith & Wesson SD40 is one of the best handgun values on the market. Mine proved to be utterly a reliable handgun. The pistol is chambered in a serious caliber and is a good size for both concealed carry and home defense.
Great little red dot sight and with some tinkering and tightening it works on sd9ve no problem! Can get a little loose during shooting so make sure you use some Loctite.
